Hi there. Welcome back to Active Faults.
This week, fanquan is talking about…
On Weibo, trending at #1: 歌手声明
The Singer drama continues as the producers announce that Charlie Puth cannot attend the filming in the following weeks. People are speculating that it is due to his zionist views, and the hashtag contained a few anti-semitic comments here and there as well as Islamophobic ones. Another writes that he is also boycotted abroad, and it is not only “老中” (a slightly derogatory nickname for China) that is “over-sensitive”. Chinese fans of Charlie Puth are accusing Hunan of clickbaiting as they started to orchestrate the rumours of his appearance as early as a few months ago, only to fumble background checks at the last minute. Some people defend Puth, and others claim that you have be an advocate for “peace” first before being a fan.

On Weibo, trending at #7: 孙一宁 有种别删
Influencer who famously blasted Wang Sicong, the multi-billion enterprise Wanda’s male heir has vehemently denied their dating rumours again. Before today, she had posted screenshots of their chat histories where Wang, in a fit of rage, threatens “consequences” upon her (presumably using his networks and privileges), to which she responds “fuck off and die, you evil capitalist”. A queen of people’s hearts who’s championing the “ordinary men” in opposition to the capital, for sure, despite the fact that she also belongs to another class with fame and recognition as a Douyin personality.
